TURNBULL FAILING TASMANIAN FAMILIES
31 Jan 2018
The December Key Figures released today by the ABS tell us what we already know. Turnbull’s trickle down isn’t working.
The top end of town is doing alright but families are being squeezed.
There was a massive 10.4% price rise in fuel in the 3 months to December and a 9.3% increase in the cost of fruit.
“With families preparing for the return of the school run and school lunches, big increases in the cost of fuel and fruit are not welcome news,” said Brian Mitchell MP.
“Add these costs to rising power bills, rocketing health insurance premiums and flat wages that do not keep pace with the cost of living and it is clear that many Tasmanians are facing a tough 2018.
“It is time for Malcolm Turnbull to drop his reckless $65 billion corporate tax handout and focus on putting people first.”
