IMF WARNING SUPPORTS LABOR ON INCLUSIVE PROSPERITY

Scott Morrison, the Federal Treasurer, is on his way to Washington to be briefed on something Labor has been saying for years - that the proceeds of strong economic growth need to be shared and that Australians deserve secure work.
The October world economic outlook from the IMF said it was time to re-engineer social security to cope with a global transition to less stable, more freelance-oriented work.
"Under the Liberals wages are frozen, millions are underemployed and rights at work are under attack - this is a recipe for strangling Australia's economic growth," says federal Labor Lyons MP Brian Mitchell.
“The Turnbull Liberal government is sticking to its failed trickle down economics song sheet while Labor is working towards inclusive prosperity.
“We need a strong and growing economy where the benefits of growth are shared, which spurs further growth.
“Full employment, decent pay and safe conditions, money in peoples pocket and the confidence to spend it, and the ability to access good training and health care are things that underpin a strong economy and decent society.
“With companies making more money than ever, and the gap between the top wage earners and the lowest wage earners growing at a faster rate than ever, it’s time to act before it’s too late,” Brian Mitchell MP warns.
